The
Asylum started out innocently enough as an idea for a syndicated comic strip
about a deranged little psychopath who resides in a padded room and who's only
contact with the outside world is through his own warped imagination. After
completing a couple of weeks worth of strips it became increasingly evident
to creator Scott Serkland that any syndicator who would even consider a comic
about an insane asylum probably belonged in one, hence the idea was subsequently
shelved.
Now years later Serkland is clearing the dust from this demented institution
and redeveloping it as a series of animated shorts.

The
Asylum is a hilarious and irreverent look into the minds of some of the most
lovable lunatics ever to have been committed. The Asylum's cockamamie cast of
characters talk out loud to themselves, destroy hospital property, pull foreign
objects out of their ears, lock themselves in closets and that's just the faculty.
